McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

Is it possible to tout for passengers at the airport..like they do for tours in the city centre. Or because it is private property is that a no no. Also the current operators routes all feature on the Airport website. It's the first place I look for transport options at any airport I fly into if...

What was your favourite bus type as a kid?

Has to be the whiney Volvo Ailsa's that Eastern Scottish had on the 129 and the Dalkeith routes in the mid eighties. I think it's the turbo but perhaps someone will correct me.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Had the joy of sitting on two yesterday on the 10. It was warmer outside. Do they turn the heating down to save on range when it's cold.

Edinburgh Tour Operators: Bright Bus, Lothian (Majestic, Three Bridges) etc.

With the news that Lothian are converting a number of tour buses to electric one has to wonder if the council will alter the LEZ rules to specify that all tour buses within the zone are electrically powered thereby forcing Brightbus to do likewise.

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

If Transport Scotland gave McGills money it would set a very dangerous precedent for other companies to do the same. I can't see it but we are talking about politicians here

Edinburgh & the Lothians bus network speculations & ideas

I'm not sure what route you would put through it for one. Speed bumps all over the place and yes I doubt the bus would leave with many windows intact. I speak as a local.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

I see on the Lothian Buses Facebook they have named the charity bus Gus. I would attach a picture but that is way beyond me

It serves some of the roughest parts of Edinburgh at either end of its route going into the estates. Perhaps that may have some influence on it.

I think you will find it's a new tour. "Blow Dry Down the Bypass"

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

I think the issue with any express service coming into the city from the west is the time it takes to get through Edinburgh. Even by car maps says it takes 52 mins and that's not stopping en route so is the X38 really that much slower. The train is so quick in comparison or even car to ingilston...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

I totally agree that some of the routes are way too long and would benefit from being shortened but you then have to find somewhere for layovers in the city centre. I'm sure the businesses in St Andrews Square already kicked up a fuss about layovers on the south side. Surely having different...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

There was a tenement fire in Great Junction Street in the early hours that shut the road, which has no doubt caused chaos all day. Also, a police incident near Cameron toll this morning. I'm guessing that may explain the 33 delays. There is another police incident just now in St Mary Street...

First Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and West Lothian operations)

I think he said he was an agency driver before so I don't suppose that threat concerns him. I suppose he could just drive for someone else

I guess the new 22 route could revert to singles. The 300 perhaps.

If you go into the service changes article and click on the individual routes you can download each timetable there.

First Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and West Lothian operations)

It would surely make more financial sense to bin West Lothian (it must be losing a lot of money) and just do the Bright Bus Tours. Find a site near Edinburgh to store and fuel the buses and any maintenance could be done at another depot.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

I know this will be controversial but there needs to a massive overhaul of the routes in general. Change the mindset that one bus can take me from penicuik to silverknowes for instance. The routes were designed from a different time when congestion wasn't an issue. Remove the barrier to...

Edinburgh Tour Operators: Bright Bus, Lothian (Majestic, Three Bridges) etc.

Cobbles appears to be their new ambassador..someone dressed up as a Scottie dog. Maybe he/she is guiding a new tour

It's certainly focussed on maintaining a reliable quality service on its tour operation in Edinburgh. I wonder why

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

I often use the 36 from Leith to morningside to avoid Leith walk and princes at as it is very rarely delayed even in the rush. What I see is almost a number of mini routes. People use it for short journeys. It can be incredibly busy Lothian rd to morningside if it arrives just before and 11 or...
